Introduction to Buddhism: The Six Perfections
This series of classes will provide an introduction to the Buddhist way of life. Based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso‘s book, Introduction to Buddhism, these classes will serve as a practical guide for establishing a way of life that is conducive to peace, benefit and happiness.
The six perfections are the practices of a Bodhisattva, someone who has developed the aspiration to fully realize their own potential in order to be of real benefit to others. This special intention is an authentic source of peace and happiness for everyone. Through developing this extraordinary intention, our mind becomes vast and peaceful, filled with love, and our ordinary problems disappear. We also develop great ability to benefit others, leading them to their own experience of happiness and freedom. In this special series of classes we will look at the practice of the six perfections, a special method to benefit others while also making our own life very happy and meaningful. Each class will include guided meditations, a teaching, and some time for questions and discussion.
