About the Classes
Suitable for everyone, these meditation classes offer simple, practical methods to improve the quality of our lives and develop inner peace. These classes focus on using Buddhist understanding to help us solve our daily problems, let go of negative minds and find the lasting happiness we seek.
Each class includes guided meditations, practical teachings, and an opportunity to ask questions. Each class is self-contained and can be attended individually. No previous experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome.
Upcoming Class Dates & Topics
August/September 2023 – A Happy and Meaningful Way of Life
In this series of classes we will begin exploring the bodhisattva’s way of life. A bodhisattva is a person who is striving for spiritual enlightenment motivated by love and compassion. Through practicing the bodhisattva’s way of life, we can make our own life very meaningful and become a source of inspiration and benefit for others.
Aug 13 – A meaningful way of life: Intro to the six perfections
Aug 20 – The joy of benefiting others: The perfection of giving
Aug 27 – Preventing future suffering: The perfection of moral discipline
Sep 3 – Staying peaceful in difficult times: The perfection of patience
Sep 10 – Learning to encourage ourself: The perfection of effort
Sep 17 – Finding inner peace: The perfections of concentration & wisdom
Sep 24 – No class due to special weekend getaway retreat at KMC Florida
October 2023 – Transforming Life’s Difficulties
Life presents us with many challenges, so we need a special method for transforming difficult conditions into causes of spiritual minds that bring pure happiness. If we are not able to transform adverse circumstances in this way, we will find it extremely difficult to preserve our mental health and wellbeing. In this series of classes we will contemplate inspiring solutions for difficult times.

About the Teacher
Gen Kelsang Tashi is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Miami. He has been practicing and teaching meditation in the Kadampa tradition for over 15 years. His gentle approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of keeping a happy and positive mind. He is appreciated for his clear, light-hearted and practical presentation of Buddhist teachings.

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the start of the class/event we will refund all except 25%. If you cancel within 24 hours before the start of the class/event, no refunds are given. Any non-refunded fees arising from cancellations are donated to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Project.
