About the Retreat

In this relaxing three day guided weekend retreat (open to everyone from beginners to advanced meditators) we will learn how to use meditation on the mind (known as Mahamudra meditation) to experience greater peace, clarity, and well-being. Derived from the Buddhist Mahamudra tradition, you will be lead on a voyage of exploration of your mind through which you can discover your own inner potential for lasting peace and happiness.

During the weekend we will also be learning about Buddha’s teachings and meditations on the “The Four Seals of Mahamudra”. These are four special insights into reality that enable us to experience the liberating wisdom of Mahamudra, the true nature of things.

Over the course of the weekend we will explore extraordinary topics such as:

  • The peaceful nature of our own mind
  • Subtle impermanence (learning to let go of negative minds)
  • The origin of our suffering and how to abandon negative minds
  • The practice of meditation and the path to true happiness
  • Realizing the liberating wisdom of ultimate truth, emptiness.

The emphasis of the retreat will be gaining heartfelt experience of these profound wisdom’s through a combination of teachings, guided meditation, and discussion.

Each guided meditation session will include practical instructions and time for meditation. Our live stream retreats give people the opportunity to fully immerse into meditation which can be a truly transformational experience. You do not need to be a Buddhist to join our meditation retreats and they are attended by people from all walks of life. Everyone can learn to meditate and everyone can experience the tremendous benefits of meditation.

About the Teachers

The retreat will be guided by the Resident Teachers of the Kadampa Centers throughout Florida. This is a rare and precious opportunity to receive advice, guidance, and inspiration from these experienced teachers of Kadampa Buddhism. Each teacher carries a wealth of personal experience and, throughout the retreat, will offer clear guidance and instruction in a way that is down to earth, practical, and inspiring.

Gen Norbu was ordained in 2006 by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and was requested by him to be the Resident Teacher of KMC Fort Lauderdale. He is known for his loving and gentle nature and holds a very clear and sharp understanding of Buddha’s teaching.

Gen Chodor is the Resident Teacher of KMC Florida in Sarasota. He is much loved for his relaxed and gentle nature and teaches with great clarity, insight and wisdom, skillfully guiding people to inner peace and happiness in their lives.

Gen Tashi is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Miami. His gentle approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of keeping a happy and positive mind. He is appreciated for his clear and practical presentation of Buddhist teachings.

Gen Namdrol is a modern Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Samudrabadra Kadampa Buddhist Center in Fort Myers. Gen Namdrol’s heartfelt and practical teachings are presented with warmth, clarity and humor making them accessible to everyone.

Gen Jindak is the Resident Teacher at Vajrapani Center. She is a western Buddhist nun and has years of experience practicing and teaching Kadampa Buddhism. Gen Jindak has a clear teaching style and is an excellent teacher for both beginners and experienced meditators.
