Description
What is an empowerment?
An empowerment is a special guided meditation during which we receive the blessings of a particular Buddha and make a personal connection with him or her. To receive blessings means to experience a positive change in the state of our mind through the inspiration of holy or enlightened beings. We all have the potential to develop many enlightened qualities such as universal love, compassion and wisdom, and receiving an empowerment functions to remove obstacles to our spiritual development and causes our spiritual potential to ripen more quickly.
During an empowerment, we also receive commentary to the meditative practices associated with a particular Buddha so that we feel confident and empowered to engage in those practices ourself. Through sincerely engaging in the meditation practice of a particular Buddha and receiving his or her blessings, we can more easily develop the same enlightened qualities ourself.
No previous experience of meditation is necessary to attend an empowerment. Everyone is welcome!
Vajrapani Empowerment
Vajrapani is the Buddha of spiritual power. With the development of our spiritual power we will have the confidence, inner strength and skill not only to take on and overcome our own negativity and obstacles, but also to be of greater benefit in helping others as well. During this empowerment we will receive the special blessings of the Vajrapani and commentary on how to engage in meditation practices associated with this Buddha.
