About the Center
Kadampa Meditation Center Miami provides a peaceful and relaxed environment where people can discover the benefits of meditation and modern Buddhist practice.
We offer a variety of classes, workshops and events. The meditation and mindfulness practices taught at our classes are suitable for all levels of interest or experience.
We also offer an in-depth study program, group prayers and guided retreats designed for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of Buddhist teachings.
The Center is run by volunteers and dedicated students. During our open hours there is always someone at hand who can answer your questions. You can experience the tranquility of the meditation room, browse our book and gift shop and simply enjoy a peaceful oasis in the city.
KMC Miami is a branch of Kadampa Meditation Center Florida, and a part of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), a non-profit organization with a global network of over 1,000 Centers and groups around the world. There are six other Kadampa Centers in Florida, located in Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, Sarasota and Tampa.

Gen Kelsang Tashi
Resident Teacher
Gen Kelsang Tashi is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Miami. He has been practicing and teaching meditation in the Kadampa tradition for over 15 years. His gentle approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of keeping a happy and positive mind. He is appreciated for his clear, light-hearted and practical presentation of Buddhist teachings.
Patrick Davidson
Meditation Teacher
Patrick Davidson is the Education Program Coordinator at KMC Miami and has been studying at practicing meditation in the Kadampa tradition for many years. He has taught many classes at our Center, and is appreciated for his warmth and joy in presenting Buddhist teachings.
Todd Ellenberg
Meditation Teacher
Todd Ellenberg is a longtime Buddhist meditation practitioner and member of our local Kadampa Center, and is enrolled in our in-depth study program. He has taught many meditation classes at our Center and its branches over the years, and is appreciated for his clear and engaging presentation of Buddhist teachings.
Lyn Fox
Meditation Teacher
Lyn Fox is a longtime Buddhist meditation practitioner, and has taught meditation classes at Kadampa Centers in Florida and New Mexico. He is appreciated for his joyful and practical presentation of the teachings.
Shannon Harvey

Shannon Harvey has been studying and practicing in the Kadampa Buddhist tradition for many years, and is a longtime member of our local Center. She is appreciated for her thoughtful and heartfelt presentation of Buddhist teachings.
Shelley Tanner
Meditation Teacher
Shelley Tanner is an experienced Buddhist meditation practitioner and teacher. Originally from Australia, she began practicing and teaching meditation in New York City over 20 years ago, and now lives in Miami Beach. She is appreciated for her joyful, practical and engaging manner of teaching and guiding meditations.
