Description
In this course you will learn the basics of Buddhism and how to get started with meditation or improve on your practice.
In this first part of the course you will learn the fundamentals of Buddhist view and how applying these insights in your daily life will increase your ability to navigate relationships skillfully, remain calm even in the face of turbulence, and to enjoy a deeper sense of well-being and happiness.
In this second part of the course we will explore the basics of meditation such as the benefits of practice, what to focus on, how long to meditate, and techniques to help us overcome distractions.
We are certain you will emerge from this workshop a wiser and more skilled meditator! Everyone is welcome.
Schedule
11:00am-12:15pm – Session 1 – Introduction to Buddhism
12:15pm-1:15pm – Lunch break (vegetarian lunch will be provided)
1:15pm-2:30pm – Session 2 – Fundamentals of Meditation
About the Teacher
Patrick Davidson has been studying and practicing in the Kadampa tradition for many years. He is a sincere and experienced meditation practitioner and is appreciated for his warmth and joy in presenting Buddhist teachings.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 24 hours prior to commencement of the event we will refund all except 25%. If you cancel on, or after, the event, no refunds are given.
