Description
During this very rare and special weekend meditation retreat, we will explore the great meaning behind the eight auspicious symbols that adorn Kadampa Buddhist Temples all around the world. These eight symbols are a visual representation of how to enter, make progress on and complete the spiritual path to enlightenment. Through learning, contemplating and meditating on the great meaning of these eight symbols, we will deepen our understanding of Dharma and develop powerful inspiration and encouragement to engage in spiritual practice. No prior experience of meditation or Buddhism is necessary to participate. Everyone is welcome!

Friday, January 13th

Saturday, January 14th
9:00am – 10:00am – Session 1 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious umbrella
11:00am – 12:00pm – Session 2 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious fish
12:00pm – 2:00pm – Lunch break (vegetarian meal included)
2:00pm – 3:00pm – Session 3 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious vase
Sunday, January 15th
9:00am – 10:00am – Session 4 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious lotus
11:00am – 12:00pm – Session 5 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious conch shell
12:00pm – 2:00pm – Lunch break (vegetarian meal included)
2:00pm – 3:00pm – Session 6 – Meditation on the meaning of the precious knot
Monday, January 16th

About the Teacher
Gen Kelsang Tashi is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Miami. He has been practicing and teaching meditation in the Kadampa tradition for over 15 years. His gentle approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of keeping a happy and positive mind. He is appreciated for his clear, light-hearted and practical presentation of Buddhist teachings.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 24 hours prior to commencement of the event we will refund all except 25%. If you cancel on, or after, the event, no refunds are given. Exceptions may be made in circumstances such as sickness or bereavement; you should apply by e-mail to [email protected] within 2 weeks of the end of the event. Any non-refunded fees arising from cancellations are donated to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Project.
